What is Polymer Clay?
Polymer clay is a lightweight, durable modelling material that is baked to set permanently. It allows for intricate detailing and vibrant colours, making it perfect for creating unique, handcrafted jewellery.
At Cottageberry Studio, every colour is custom mixed by hand — we never use clay straight from the packet. Each shade is thoughtfully blended to create soft, distinctive tones that you won’t find anywhere else.
Every piece is carefully shaped, textured, and assembled before being cured in the oven for strength and longevity. Once baked, polymer clay becomes firm yet lightweight, making your earrings comfortable to wear all day.
Because each colour and design is created by hand, no two pieces are ever exactly the same — giving you earrings that are truly one-of-a-kind.
What is the difference between 304 and 316 grade?
At Cottageberry Studio, we use high-quality stainless steel for our earring posts because it is strong, durable, and made to last.
304 Stainless Steel Grade
304 stainless steel is a high-quality, durable metal commonly used in jewellery and everyday items. It is known for its excellent resistance to rust and corrosion, making it a reliable choice for regular wear. It is strong, long-lasting, and helps your earrings maintain their finish over time.
316 Stainless Steel (Surgical / Medical Grade)
316 stainless steel is considered a premium grade. It contains a small amount of molybdenum, which gives it enhanced resistance to corrosion, especially in moisture-rich environments. This makes it highly durable, slow to tarnish, and a popular option for people with sensitive ears. It is often referred to as surgical or medical grade stainless steel.
